UF GPA Calculator

The UF GPA Calculator uses the official grade point value scale published by the University of Florida Office of the University Registrar, in effect since Summer A 2009. UF grades on a plus/minus scale from A (4.0) down to E (0.0), with grade points at each plus/minus increment: A- = 3.67, B+ = 3.33, B = 3.00, and so on down through D- = 0.67.

One detail that trips up many UF students: the university does not round your GPA — it's truncated to two decimal places. A computed GPA of 3.248, for instance, is officially recorded as 3.24, not 3.25. One of the most distinctive features of the UF grading system is that the official GPA calculation is truncated to the hundredths place, not rounded. UF's own catalog gives the example: a computed GPA of 3.248 is officially displayed as 3.24, not rounded up to 3.25.

This matters most right at the edges of GPA-based thresholds — for scholarships, Latin honors, or program admission requirements — where a difference of a single hundredth of a point (like 3.499 truncating to 3.49 instead of rounding to 3.50) can change your eligibility. UF undergraduates are expected to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 to remain in good academic standing; falling below this threshold can result in academic probation. UF's Dean's List recognizes students who achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher while carrying a full course load, and is announced separately by each UF college at the end of fall and spring terms.
