About Image to PDF Converter
Our Image to PDF Converter lets you convert any image format to PDF instantly in your browser. Supports PNG, JPG, WebP, and multiple images into one PDF. No files are uploaded to any server — 100% private client-side processing using jsPDF.
How Image to PDF Converter Works
The Image to PDF Converter processes your images entirely inside your browser using the jsPDF library — no files are uploaded to any server. When you add images, they are loaded into browser memory using the HTML5 FileReader API. The selected page dimensions (A4, Letter, or A3) and orientation are used to define a jsPDF document canvas. Each image is then drawn onto its own page using the library's addImage() method, which accepts the image as a data URL. The "fit to page" mode calculates the aspect ratio of each image and scales it to fill the page while preserving proportions, adding margins as configured. "Fill page" stretches the image to fill the entire page. "Original size" places the image at its native DPI size, centred on the page. Multiple images each get their own page in the PDF, ordered according to the list you set. The final PDF is generated as a binary blob and triggered for download using a browser object URL — no server round-trip required at any point.

Limitations & Practical Tips
Known Limitations
- •Very large images (e.g. 20 megapixel DSLR photos) may slow down processing or cause browser memory issues — downscale images to screen resolution before converting for best performance.
- •The converter uses a fixed PDF version and does not support PDF features like selectable text, hyperlinks, layers, or digital signatures — for those, use professional PDF software.
- •Image quality in the PDF depends on the source image quality and the selected image-fit mode. There is no internal compression applied beyond what jsPDF uses by default.
- •Password-protected PDFs or encrypted output are not supported by this free browser-based tool.
Tips for Best Results
- →For document scans intended for printing, use A4 or Letter with "fit to page" and 10mm margins to ensure the content is clearly visible and not cut off at edges.
- →Reorder images using the arrow buttons before converting — the order in the list is the order of pages in the PDF.
- →If you need a specific DPI in the output PDF (e.g. 300 DPI for professional printing), resize the source image to the exact pixel dimensions needed for that DPI at your target page size before converting.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the image to PDF conversion private?
Completely. All conversion happens inside your browser using JavaScript — no images are ever uploaded to any server. Your files never leave your device, making this one of the most private image-to-PDF tools available.
- What image formats are supported?
The converter supports PNG, JPG/JPEG, and WebP images. You can convert a single image or combine multiple images into one PDF, with each image placed on its own page.
- How do I convert multiple images into one PDF?
Simply drag and drop or select multiple image files at once. They will appear as a list where you can reorder them with the up/down arrows. Each image becomes one page in the final PDF in the order you set.
- What page sizes are available?
You can choose A4 (210×297mm), Letter (215.9×279.4mm), or A3 (297×420mm), in either portrait or landscape orientation. Margin and image-fit options let you control exactly how the image appears on each page.
- Can I convert a scanned document to PDF?
Yes. If you have scanned a document with your phone camera or a scanner as a PNG or JPEG, you can convert it to PDF using this tool. For best results, ensure the scan is well-lit and straight before converting.
- Why is my PDF file very large after conversion?
PDFs created from images embed the full image data. A 5 MB JPEG becomes an approximately 5–7 MB PDF page. To reduce file size, compress the images before conversion using an image compression tool, or reduce the image resolution to 96–150 DPI for screen use.
- Does the tool support HEIC images from iPhone?
HEIC (the default iPhone photo format) is not currently supported by the browser FileReader API in most browsers. Convert HEIC photos to JPEG or PNG first (using your phone's share/export function or macOS Photos) before uploading.
